Local Hazard Mitigation Plan
The Chatom Union School District is currently participating in the Stanislaus County Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan. There are approximately 58 entities in the county that have come together to develop the multi-jurisdictional plan. The Plans are being designed to be working documents identifying areas within the community that are being monitored. Earthquake, landslide, dam failure, and flooding are the major areas being reviewed. The Plan must be updated every five years, in which the district is in that revision cycle at this time. Information will be provided to the district Board and community as it becomes available either through this website or through direct communication with the Board. Upon completion the document will be forwarded to CalOES and then on to FEMA for review and comment. After it has been approved by both agencies, the Plan will come back to the District Board for acceptance and resolution.
If anyone within the district have questions or concerns regarding the document or Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Planning process itself they are to contact the Chatom Union School District Office at 209-664-8505, Ext 1.
